Toast the end of 2020 with a cocktail
2020 is finally ending and we too are ready to say ‘Good riddance’ and plunge into 2021. Though this year hasn’t been without a few nice surprises and even travels, we hope the upcoming year will allow us to see our friends and family in person, not just over Zoom.
Before we clink our glasses and get tipsy, we wanted to pay homage to one of the many wonderful women we’ve lost this year. Of course, we’re talking about Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, whose legacy has written parts of history. There’s no way of knowing whether she’d like this new cocktail that we’ve named after her, but it no doubt contains some of that calm composure, coolness and class of the late Justice. We hope you’ll like it.
Ingredients:
40 ml London dry gin
40 ml white port
20 ml Fernet Branca
20 ml simple syrup
fresh orange
ice cubes
cinnamon stick
Method:
Muddle a slice of orange with ice cubes in a stirring glass. Add the liquid ingredients and stir well. Transfer the contents to a serving glass with ice cubes, pop in a cinnamon stick and top off with a twist of singed orange peel.
